One thing I'd like to try on this blog is sharing smoothie recipes. I got really into smoothies about four years ago, when I'd just mix tons of fruits and maybe spinach in the blender with some water (and honey if I needed something sweet), and that would be breakfast. It got me most of my recommended fruits/veggies, and according to my sister, I was a lot less bitchy at work when I had my smoothies.
Chia and Flax Seeds are full of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for hair and skin. Kelp is high in iodine, which most adults are lacking from their diets. Spirulina is a vegetarian protein in the form of algae (you can't taste it in a smoothie).
When I drink Green Smoothies with all their goodness, I do feel better. I have a lot more energy, and my skin clears up. If you've ever watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead, it's amazing what consuming a mostly plant diet could do for you. I've tried juicing, but it's not my thing (It's a LOT of work!).
